About me

Tools of trade: old Canon PowerShot S2IS; Photoshop; some luck; some inspiration; free time and a computer.

"Photography comes from the heart, not from an expensive camera"
Me

The man behind the lens
I was born in Romania in the early 80's, and I have lived for 28 years in Bucharest. My first contact with photography was around the age of 5, my father had improvised a darkroom and a mini lab in our house to develop his own pictures and play with them in the lab, printing them on paper and experiencing different techniques. At the age of 5 I was allowed to enter in his lab and darkroom to see the "thing" that puts images on paper. At the age of 14 I had received my own camera, a ZORKI camera made in USSR. At the age of 18 I started to use my father's ZENIT-E camera and in 2005 I bought my Canon PowerShot S2IS which is still in use. For the moment photography is just a hobby because I don't have the tools for going more serious into this field.

Maybe you will not find here the best photographs in the world as, maybe, I am not the best photographer in the universe. But I do what I like and I am proud of what I can do with a digital camera from 2005, with some specs lower than a smartphone camera.
